Submit Data

Submit data using your WaterInsights Testing Kit.

Here’s how it works:

Gather a water sample in a container you’d be comfortable drinking from.  To test your water sample, you’ll need to submerge an entire test strip in the water for about 1 second.  Take it out, start a timer for 30 seconds (your watch or smart phone might have one), and place the strip on a flat dry surface.

When the timer ends, you can use the enclosed analog color bar card to read the values for each of the 6 color blocks.  Use the form below to submit your data to our application.  We’ll analyze that data and tell you about your water quality.  We’ll also store your data with other data collected across the globe so we can study trends in water bodies worlwide!  You will be contributing to a World Water Health Map!

Add Your Data Using FieldScope

The WaterInsights program is now using FieldScope as a tool for entering and visualizing your collected data. FieldScope empowers WaterInsights participants to use maps, graphs, and other visualization tools to make meaning of crowd-sourced water quality data and turn data into stories that can be used in science communication and grassroots advocacy.

The data entry form on FieldScope is easy to use. You must sign up for an account with FieldScope first. Once your account is confirmed, you will need to log-in and add your data.

A benefit of FieldScope is that you or your group can track your data contributions over time, and visualize your data in maps and graphs.
